Welcome to the iOS app for bishop studios/san francisco.

These interactive portfolios represent the wide range of creative work, both photographic and illustrative, produced by David Bishop. As a commercial photographer and illustrator David’s work has been defined by the technology revolution that emerged in nearby Silicon Valley to the south, and by the beautiful Napa and Sonoma wine country to the north.

Most recently his interests have moved outside the studio where his visual style lends itself to the rugged coastline of California and the ancient, timeless country of Italy. ‘It bespeaks a wasted life to discover Tuscany at 50....’ is often heard around the studio, especially after a nice glass of Barolo.

Classically trained as a fine art photographer, his visual style shows the terse, efficient and precise control of the medium, beginning with large format sheet film all the way through to the latest digital technology. Interestingly, his present day studio system is a blend of old and new; his primary capture system is a Hasselblad 500C/120mm Makro ƒ/4 with a PhaseOne H25 digital back using Capture One software.

His work is divided into several distinct portfolios, each with its own characteristic style, and all are designed for quick downloading.
